فيلا فيرناند فى شارع عبد السلام عارف واحدة من التراث الثقافى المهمل فى مدينة بورسعيد، ويوجد خلفها ذلك
المبنى المصمم بطريقه فريدة ، نعم إنه ذلك المبنى الملون والذى فى طريقه للهدم. خلف هاذان المبنيان يوجد مكان خالى ومفتوح يقف مكتوف الأيدى وغير مستغل إلا فقط فى استضافة القمامة. هذا هو المكان الذى اختير لفاعلية "ظلال المدينة" و التى تعد جزء من بحث بالتعاون مع المؤسسة الثقافية الأوربية (ECF) بهدف استكشاف الاماكن المهملة فى المدن لإحيائها من خلال الفن. وقد اخترنا مدينة بور سعيد كنموذج لتقييم النظريات، الممارسات والأفكار الإبداعية التى استخدمت خلال مرحلة البحث، وكل هذا سيساهم فى عمل دليل "افعلها بنفسك" والتى ستحتوى على الأدوات والوسائل المستخدمة والمحفزات لتجديد الأماكن المهملة من خلال الفن. هذا المكان المخفى والذى لا يعرف عنه أحد، تم تنظيفه وتجديده وتحويله فى فترة وجيزة، حيث قامت محطات - بصفتها منفذة – بتطوير الفكرة مع المستشارة الفنية "رنا النمر" وقد عرضت نتائج هذا المجهود على الناس فى يومى 16، 17 من يوليو ، فقامت الفنانة البصرية "نادية منير" والتى كانت مسئولة عن العرض البصرى للمكان بإضائته ، كما علقت صور قديمة وجديدة على حائط المبنى، بجانب مقتنيات من مدينة بورسعيد. تم دعوة الناس للفاعلية وللتحرك حول المكان كيفما شاءوا، وببطء قاموا باستكشاف الأشكال الورقية التى قامت بها الفنانة "نيرفان طلحة". فكرة المعرض كانت تدور حول ثقافة بورسعيد الشائعة وكيف أن مواطنيها متشابكين مع تراث وتاريخ المدينة فى علاقة صوررتها الفنانة نادية منير بطريقة هادئة وجميلة من خلال عرض فيديو عن رجل عجوز وشاب صغير يرقصان على أنغام رقصة السمسية وفى خلفيتهما البحر، فى حين استطاعا الموسيقيان "نانسى منير" و "عمر مصطفى" أن يدمجا كل هذا معا فى مقطوعات موسيقية ارتجالية غمرت المكان وتسربت بخفوت إلى الشوارع المجاورة. حضر الفاعلية أكثر من 300 مواطن بورسعيدى وقد كانت المرة الأولى لهم أن يسمعوا عن وجود فيلا فيرناند. وقبل بدء الفاعلية قامت مجموعة من "بورسعيد على قديمه" بجولة مشى و بالدراجات حول المدينة لأخذ الناس إلى الأماكن التاريخية والثقافية المهمة ومن ضمنها تلك التى أهملت، وقد تضمنت الجولة أخذ الزوار إلى الفاعلية وتعريفهم بفيلا فيرناند. نريد أن نؤكد أن هذا المشروع لم يكن من الممكن تنفيذه بدون تفانى سفراء محطات. نشير إلى أن البحث الذى حدث لتنفيذ هذه الفاعلية مقدم من "ECF"، بينما نفذت الفاعلية نفسها بالتعاون مع مؤسسة دروسوس تحت مظلة برنامج شبابيك/اتاحة الفن. كما تم هذا الحدث بالتعاون مع شركاؤنا المحليين بور سعيد على قديمه و جمعية تنمية الثقافة الفرنسية في بورسعيد.
Villa Fernand on Abdel Salam Aref street stands amongst Port Said’s neglected cultural heritage. The building behind Villa Fernand was a colorful old building that is now in the process of demolition. An open and empty space behind these two structures stood idle and unused with the exception of hosting trash. This was the space chosen for the City Shadows event, part of a creative action research with the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) to explore the ways abandoned spaces in cities can be revived through art. Port Said has been chosen as a case study to assess the theories, practices and innovative ideas put forth during the research phase. This will support in the creation of a DiY toolkit where guidance and motivation for renovating abandoned spaces through art would be provided. In a short time-frame, this discreetly hidden space was cleaned-up, revamped and transformed. As producers, the Mahatat team and researcher began developing the idea with Artistic Consultant Rana El Nemr. On July 16 and 17, 2016 the results would be presented to the public. Curator and visual artist Nadia Mounier lit up the area with lights and added old and new photos and collectibles from Port Said. Audiences were invited in and free to move around as they wish, slowly discovering items such as the paper crafts by artist Nervan Talha. The exhibition revolved around Port Said’s popular culture and how the citizens are entangled in their city’s heritage and history. A projected video by Mounier presented this relationship quite beautifully through footage of an old man and young boy dancing the traditional Port Said ‘semsemia’ dance with the sea as their backdrop. Curators and musicians Nancy Mounir and Omar Mostafa were able to bring this all together through experimental music tracks that flooded the space and faintly spreaded to the neighbouring streets. For many of the over 300 Port Said residents that attended, it was their first time to hear that Villa Fernand even existed. As a lead up to the event, the group from Port Said Ala Adeemo designed a special tour around the city to take people around significant cultural and historical places including those that have been abandoned. By foot and by bike, the tour would conclude by taking visitors to the event and explaining Villa Fernand. This project would not have been possible without the dedicated Mahatat ambassadors. The research has been supported by ECF and the event is developed in partnership with the Drosos Foundation under the umbrella of the Access to Arts/Shababeek program with Mahatat for contemporary art. The event was also supported by local partners Port Said Ala Adeemo and Alliance française de Port-Saïd.
