location and context

Cabin is situated in 13 km to the North from Sion on the way to Le Serac mountain pick.
This place is on the 1700 m height on the glade with a small incline. It is surrounded by a forest and a mountain stream.

 

idea

Big number of contrasts compatible in the mountain landscapes of Switzerland inspired us to create a complicated form that fits a small volume called “La Cabane”.
Mountain landscape is rather varied. A strong rocky basement changes into a light top that hides in a sky
If you look at the skyline you will notice that mountain range is changing it’s height extremely or smoothly. It creates a unique mountain skyline that we’ve decided to crop into small parts.

form creation

The boundaries, the height lines of the mountainous terrain, define the geometry of the facade. 

Shack consists of two levels that contrast between each oth- er. The basement takes a form of an elementary square and it works like a strong unchangeable module. Nevertheless a light top takes irregular geometric shape.

It’s a place for a serial holiday and residential house. It is offered including all furniture and fittings. The concept was developed by the ideal of a house with outdoor impressions and also by use of the solar energy for the building.
