7th Horse Artillery

Two days onboard with 7th Horse Artillery
by Bolek Rosinski
August 7, 1939. Chrzestewo, Poland.  The war with Germany looms. Soldiers of the 1st battery/7th Horse Artillery are on intense exercise practicing their skills before incoming exam. Mobilization will be announced in next two weeks. In July 2012 i had an extraordinary occasion to watch - first fully re-created since 1939 section of 75mm M1902/26 gun. Fully mobile and operational. Members of two polish historical associations recreated this smallest horse artillery unit and showed it to the public with all of the details. I was there with my 1939 Rolleiflex camera and tried to catch some of this marvelous time-travel. Below are the effects.
#01: Gun section on the move.
#02:  Dismount!
#03:  Forward observer taking up the position.
#04: Battery runners on briefing.
#05:  Small infantry squad manned a communication point nearby.
#06:  Battery during practice fireing. 75 mm field gun M1902/26 in action.
#07:  Get down! Enemy in the range of sight!
#08:  The 7TP - polish light tank.
#09: Back to the camp. Lieutenant takes conversation with corporal.
#10: Details on the battery command post.
#11:  Cleaning the gun.
#12: Corporal watches his men on duty.
#13: Cleaning the gun is not an easy task.
#14: Lieutenant enjoys a moment of leisure.
#15:  Everyday duty.
#16: Girls watching gunners with curiosity.
