Karl Krombholc (Károly Krombholz) was composer, pianist and teacher. His name can be found from the middle of the twentieth century in almost every music encyclopedia of the former Yugoslav region but no one actually wrote about him until now. Maybe the reason was lack of information cause Karlo wasn’t exposed to the media. That’s is also the reason why this publication was a challenge for it’s author Ira Prodanov Krajišnik. This book represents the first detailed study about Karlo Krombholc’s music opus. It contains a large number of music instructions and examples; edition is accompanied by the compact disc with recordings of selected representative Krombholc’s works.

As Karlo was hardworking person dedicated to his music career, composing and students, never paying much attention to selfpromotion into media, I created a picture of him in my head as a romantic person, living in his own world but breathes for exploring, constant searching and teaching. I imagined his piano as some kind of landscape because nature teaches us, calms and leads us; creatives always find nature as inspiration for their work.

A mixed media book cover design that plays with typography, contrasts and watercolour paintings. The cover has flaps which are diferent sizes – front flap is smaller than the other and features biographical information about the author and a summary of the book from two persons from the music world: one is musicologist and the other is a piano teacher.
The back flap is the same size as the book and is folded to form a pocket for compact disc.
