In my years of experience as a graphic designer, I've made significant achievements in each industry I have had the pleasure of being a part of, and in contributing to that company’s goals and achievements. Each achievement is unique in its own right and deserves a place in my category of “biggest career achievements”.

However, there is one achievement that I am particularly proud of and I am glad to say that I didn’t back down from the challenge that was presented to me at that time. This was the pitch for the annual report for China Bank and it was memorable for me due to the insurmountable odds that I was up against. I pitched this project as an independent and was aware that I was up against the big advertising agencies that regularly pitch for the annual report. This was my first time, but nonetheless, I took it as a challenge to gauge myself if I had what it takes to compete against these agencies.

The result of the task I undertook astounded me beyond what I imagined. I passed the initial screening, which surprised me, but what surprised me even further was when they announced I was one of the top-five finalists for final presentation to the board. That alone completely took me by surprise. I wasn’t even expecting I’d land in the top-five, but I did. They liked the design concept I presented to them based on the theme for that year which was – More Than Your Banker. The Right Partner.

However, even though I wasn’t able to get the account, I am still happy and thankful that I was able to land in the top-five finalists and it clearly deserves a place in one of my biggest achievements in my career.
