manifesto

For mymanifesto I had to choose an issue upon which I felt strongly enough about tobe able to create a visual piece of design to. Through this piece of work I hadto show my personal feelings upon the subject whether good or bad. I chose to lookat coffee as within myself I love coffee and I feel other people should love itas much as I do and drink more of it, thusly why I chose this as my subject.
The beginning of my workwas to look at coffee itself, research the history and the origins, facts, anyinformation I could find and a look into coffee advertising, coffee productsand any associated design. I looked into these areas to gain ideas, inspirationand to see the designs that already existed so as not to tread on othersdesigns. Development I proceeded with, I drew out ideas and then took forwardwhich Ideas I felt was the strongest. Out of the ideas I created coasters as Ifelt I could go far with this idea. I created coasters that stuck to a person’sspecific coffee they drank. This would be easier for people to make the coffeeinstead of asking how they like it. Initially I wanted to actual make the coaster so it would be 3D, butunfortunately I found it hard to find a printing company that printed coastersthat were round so it is only 2D.
I feel my final 4 coasters show mylove of coffee, although it may not exactly show that I love coffee an extremeamount as the design is not in your face, but it shows I have a strong feel forit with the simplicity of my design. I designed a set of coasters that aresimple, effective, easy to understand, up to date with current trends and willhopefully make people drink more coffee and love it as much as I do.
