“Identities are fluid and should not be set in stone.”
Background: Sime Darby celebrated the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Subang Jaya as a town this year (2016). In order to promote a sense of belonging amongst the Subang community, they actually are trying to gather stories from the residents related to #SJ40. Besides, they also came up with a name for the residents in Subang Jaya-Subangites. This project wishes to enhance this township’s identity by designing a well-rounded visual identity for Subangites which could be used to highlight Subang Jaya as a bustling and sustainable (quoted by Sime Darby) place of residence. It is also to encourage a sense of ownership and belonging amongst the residents of Subang Jaya.
