A lot of people suggest that Portland is far from diverse. But what we saw Thursday, November 10th was of the contrary. With a plethora of post-election protests sweeping across the nation, we wanted to capture the heart, peace, and diversity of the post-election protests occurring in our hometown of Portland, Oregon. The people protesting are your doctors, lawyers, teachers, students, chefs, waitresses & waiters, entrepreneurs, black, white, asian, latino / latina, native american, women, men, and a plethora of other gender identities, grandparents, parents, children, LGBTQ, heterosexual, and so much more diversity. They're protesting some very racist, sexist, homophobic, and xenophobic agendas by an impending administration. However you may feel about these election results, or however premature you believe the actions of the people protesting to be, one thing is undeniably clear; people are genuinely scared, and prefer to mobilize, and be proactive about where they stand about their rights, rather than wait for their rights to slowly start disappearing before they do anything. "During these confusing, emotional times, people need to remember that they're not alone. We stand together. United."
