The Wicker Man

Personal Project - July 2012
In honor of the unintentionally hilarious movie you hate to love starring the goofy actor you love to hate (Nic Cage), comes a project that was inspired after viewing The Wicker Man with a couple friends.
A movie that still made us wonder if it was supposed to be all around terrible and funny, while simultaneously doing our best Cage voices and ripping into the film a la MST3K-style. After watching it, I knew I had to do create an illustration depicting the key (and most stupidly side-splitting parts) of the movie.
I've always wanted to venture into the watercolor medium, and I thought this illustration would be perfect to experiment with it. After sketching and digitally drawing the complete layout, my talented girlfriend (Courtney Miller) schooled me in some watercolor techniques. Though tedious, I really love how it turned out and hope to delve into more watercolor projects down the road!
