'ERROR ARK'| MASTER'S PROJECT
PART 4 | Project

Error Ark is a mobile and adaptable gathering space for post-genders.
What you will see below is a series of drawings, which show the context for the space I designed. And as I mentioned before, I choose using 'Antigone' as my character to illustrate my project.
In my opinion, Antigone represents post-gender group who are unwilling to be trapped in the gender binary, and chooses to become a cyborg, like an ‘error’ existence in society.
The following series of drawings analyse the devices with our body. As for cyborg, technology has extended the physical body beyond their original gender identity. And, it will influence the environment around us. Cyborg can create new boundaries, new zones, and new connections that we are a part of.

‘story telling’

CHAPTER  1
“Before adhering to the cyborg, I took on the gender identity of Non-binary, because I always looked at “male” (masculine) and “female” (feminine) identities as being far too simplistic in understanding myself, due to the fact that I didn’t have static attributes of only one or the other. For me, it was both and more. So Non-binary was the closest that I could think of that properly conveyed my own identity”,
Antigone.

CHAPTER 2
Antigone continued,
“I choose to be a cyborg,as for me, it is more than just your symbiotic relationship with technology; cyborg is a new gender identity for the modern society. My world will be different than before, and I am different, which causes the society to be different.
As for our group, our dependence on technology has undone our gender, changed the way we see, and the way to experience the world. Traditional methodologies of architectural design do not recognize this ontological shift, and as a result, fail to create for us the necessary environment for modern culture to prosper.’

CHAPTER 3
‘But, the current building, the society, are still deeply rooted in the notion of masculine hegemony. It is value-free! The identity of cyborg remind me that we fully recognise this recognise this environmental inadequacy.
So, I think we need a new space to take on our history, using our way to challenge the accepted cultural”
said Antigone.
This gif shows how cyborg occupied the existing
building and public space through ‘error’ ark,
and transformed it into a heterotopia space.
ERROR ARK'S INTERIOR
The Error Ark’s interior will be a space that has a highly democratic freedom and encourages participation.
Spatial events will continually reconfigure it based on intention.
Its inhabitants will take the appearance of superheroe
which also responds to the desire that they hope to surpass gender constraint and their identity.

Process of error ark’s movement
Based on these groups, Error Ark features temporary and instant opening time and sites.
There are series drawings to demonstrate how ‘error ark’ moves and affects the monotonous urban context.

The following images will demonstrate error ark’s interior part.
By referring to the queer Heterotopia, the space itself that I imagined was regarded as an interconnected and supportive system,
 rather than a fixed construction.
conclusion

As for the concept of the Error Ark, it truly reflects my aspiration to illustrate man’s relationship with his environment and how the body extends indefinitely to interact with it and to have an impact on it.
When they become a cyborg, it recognises that they can emit their architectural boundaries,
they can appropriate the places they inhabit, and define and re-define their space based on what they need and when they need it.
