Lush
One of my favourite locations to photograph, and brilliant evidence of the beauty and diversity of Yorkshire. This is Wyming Brook, on the outskirts of Sheffield.
Elements of Wyming Brook
I nearly fell in (again) taking this! To get the central view of the stream looking back up the cascades, I had to balance against another big rock, which was only just big enough to seat me and my tripod (I wasn't wearing my wellies on this occasion). The bonsai-style tree drew me to this view, with the water leading down from it over the falls.
Cascading from the Bridge
This series of cascades are right next to the path in Wyming Brook Nature Reserve, and a footbridge can just be made out amongst the foliage near the top of the frame.
Foggy Footpath
Looking back down the footpath towards Mam Nick and the car park. This was taken just before the fog engulfed the summit completely and all photo opportunities were lost.
Fog Edale (Foggy Dale)
The road as it leaves Mam Nick on its way out of the Hope Valley and into Edale. Taken from Mam Tor, the cloud rolling in from the west quickly covered the views up on all sides as the sun rose in the opposite direction.
The Great Ridge in Colour
The Great Ridge is where the dark (north) and white (south) peaks meet each other. Rushup Edge can be seen disappearing off to the right. The clouds caught the colour of sunrise beautifully that morning, and added some lovely purple tones to the scene.
