The Forest

Type: independent digital artwork

Concept: What happens if you get lost in an imaginary forest of ideas and cannot find your way out? Getting entangled in the woods can be in many ways similar to visiting a badly designed website. Deprived of a cozy sitemap, you wander around without knowledge where you may end up. Getting lost is also an invite to focus again on issues once taken for granted. Along the way you happen to meet a handful of women telling different stories of what it's like to be "the other sex", thus alluding or directly referring to the classics of discourse and gender lit (Foucault, de Beauvoir, Butler, etc.). This piece is a result of my extensive reading into gender linguistics and obsession with digital collage making.

My role: Creative concept development, research, image making, HTML and everything else

Project presented as top artwork of the Kingston University media class of 2009 (London).
