Japanese Dragon
3D simulation of japanese dragon. Made as plywood sculpture. This is 25 x 25 x 2,4 cm project made from 6 layers of birch plywood.
Dragon creature came to Japan together with other chinese traditions. In time dragons overtook symbolism of snakes in Japan which represented water element. This is why they have snakelike look.
Project was made in Illustrator and them imported to 3D max and rendered with plywood texture.
As this is laser cut project i had to prepare each layer not as a typical graphical project but as cut-ready layers to assemble them from plywood.
