Every year Fiji is threatened with the possibility of cyclones and floods, which can cause millions of dollars in damages. After a cyclone it is sometimes difficult to contact loved ones due to phone network failures. The 'Aware Fiji' app aims to provide users with updates during Fiji's cyclone season, providing alerts on the location of cyclones and nearby hazards. A checklist of actions is also provided to allow users plenty of time to prepare before a cyclone. The app will even be usable offline and will automatically update information as soon as it is able to reconnect, allowing users to share updates on their safety with family and friends. This project was researched and designed by me.
