The front-end design code was removed once the development system was setup. The unformatted content remained on the site, free of any previous design template restrictions. From that point onward, the project consisted of wholly front-end development. Once the re-design was completed, the site was cloned to a new production server and the DNS settings on the domain were switched to load the new site. The previous content, URLs and configuration settings remained the same as the previous site. After launch, analytics showed lower bounce rates and an increase in the time users remained on page.
