Living an open life as a member of the LGBT community has become nearly impossible in Russia.
In the last few years many lesbian, gay, bi and especially trans people had to seek for asylum in other countries. Otherwise they have to stay hidden in the closet while facing the daily violence on the streets against them.
As a result, the depression rate in the LGBT community rises.
This poster series deals with both aspects. first, to visualize their depressive situation, the vibrant russian national colors slowly fade to gray. second, the matrjoshka puppet has finally closed its eyes in agony, while the man inside remains trapped in a woman's (puppet's) body.
