While working at Alliance Health I was given the task of creating some icons to be used in the service UpWell.com to differentiate between article series. Iconography design is a unique challenge and one that I enjoy a great deal. Creating a new icon is often a deceptivly simple task and I think that's because often the icons themselves are simple in appearance. However the challenge comes because of the effort required to insert so much information into a tiny area.
