Hubris was considered a major crime in the ancient Greek world. The term was originally used to describe the actions of those who challenged the gods, and generally referred to an irreverent outrageous behavior.

The optical and mechanical rules that enable photography are also the constraints that define its limits. Hubris is a single panoramic image captured on a two-meter film reel. It is not technically possible to produce such an image using currently available photographic equipment.
