"North Dakota is a place unknown to most people, one of those US states that one can stumble by chance or for job reasons, one of those states where mass tourism stays away. Farmlands as far as the eye can see and small rural villages. What brought thousands of people to migrate from all over America into the Williston Basin, center of the Bakken oil formation, from 2008 onwards? One thing only: Oil. “Bye Bye Bakken” is an attempt to analyze a reality overwhelmed by an economic boom which hasn't been seen in some time, dissecting the problem and bringing pros, cons and consequences on the environment and the human. A trip through a world always on the edge between a state of overnight wealthiness freedom and the uncertainty of a future guided by a schizophrenic market already set for a dreadful end."
