The focus of my design is to create a stronger emotional appeal towards the target audience and to highlight what the story is related to, based on the first look at the cover of the book. I wanted the book cover to focus on the book title, therefore, I want the font type to be more clean. To better relate to the storyline, I included the silhouette of a man and a little girl. The reason why i use white for the text, “Ghost” is because it is a rather strong word and it tends to relate to horror stories, however, the storyline is not so much on horror. Therefore, i would like to direct more attention to the girl, which i use a dark gray colour. 

Besides highlighting the story, the author’s name is also the key attraction. She has been known for her style of writing. Thus, in the front cover, i placed it as the second in hierarchy. And because ‘One Child’ is her first bestselling book, i also highlighted it in the front cover. This is to leverage from the previous book and to attract the readers of ‘One Child’ to be interested to find out about this book.
