Objective:
To create a table-top accessory using only the materials provided.
Materials provided:
American Birch wood - 210mm x 55mm x 12mm
Transparent acrylic sheet - 100mm x 100mm x 5mm
About Audíz:
Audíz is an elegant phone charging station as well as a media consumption device. Music can be played through the docking station using Bluetooth connectivity. Auxiliary input is also available for devices without Bluetooth capabilities.
I chose to create speakers because the material provided was wood and acrylic. Wood produces better bass reverberations than metal or plastic speakers which deepens the sound. Wood provides a stable body and is a sound absorbing material which in turn improves the speakers' acoustics.
