MDDN 211 - Project 3 - Documentary

I have always loved cricket and I have always been fascinated by the stories my uncle John would have from his cricketing experiences, therefore it was easy for me to decide who I would ask to be in my final video. In this video I used a unique interviewing technique where I would begin a sentence and ask John to finish it for me. This proved successful as his answers were interesting and also relatively short, I could therefore feature a fair amount of content into the video from cutting and editing his answers down to get the main points across. The editing stage for this project was crucial as I had a lot of content to work with, I therefore cut and edited down his answers to help create a flowing dialogue in between starting the sentence for him.

A problem I faced was running out of space on my B-roll camera, therefore I had to used footage that didn’t link with the audio. This was a problem but I tried my best to make it fit the footage with what he was talking about. John was very helpful throughout the process and his answers helped flow into his guitar playing at the end which helped conclude the video.
