NUS Coop Logo Entry
This was my entry for a logo contest for NUS Coop. I didn't believe in logo popularity voting especially by Facebook likes. So I couldn't be bothered sharing this around for random people to 'like'. Facebook likes carried a huge percentage in the competition, and... needless to say, mine barely won this component.
A rather minimalistic logo that shows a figure of a flowerin the middle with 7 pairs of leaves extending from both sides. The flower isillustrated such that its strokes are simple loops that subtly spell out theletters C-O-O-P to refer to the name "Co-op" by which theorganization is known. Flowers generally symbolize beauty and are commonlygiven as a gift/present. Hence, the logo incorporates a flower to reflect thebeauty of giving and to symbolize the supportive nature of NUS Co-op’s venturesas a social enterprise. The 7 pairs of leaves extending from both sides of theflower resemble a laurel wreath to convey the nobility of NUS Coop’s commitmentto the community and to the 7 principles of cooperation.
