This project is from my Intermediate Typography class which introduced conceptual analogies between acoustic and visual space. Typography is a visual representation of our spoken language or sound, I explored the visualization of sound and music by creating a typographic map of acoustic space, based on the translation of a short segment from a piece of music. The most important fundamental concepts this project had me understand harmony (unity and variety), hierarchy (contrast and structure), and rhythm (time and motion).
I chose to do the song Paper Thin Reality by Tipper. The time frame for this piece is 2:20 to 2:35 (https://soundcloud.com/tippermusic/paperthinreality).
