Branding in Design
A summary of the design process with weight on user testing and building a brand. This screwdriver was designed to be ergonomic and fit a range of hand sizes, including female users. The branding took place in unison with the product design of this product. The inspiration of the brand followed similar top end tooling brands which we set as a competitor to the brand we developed. As part of the team, I was responsible for much of the branding as well as the image developing, such as organizing the user tests results and putting together the concept image and color scheme in the left hand corner of the piece.
A second example of form following brand design language. This palm sander offers a rotating handle to give variation to hand positioning during excessive use. The ergonomic shape is linked to Makita form language, as well as fits to female hand sizes which was the pivotal design goal for this project.
