A young couple, living in London, wanted to add another room in preparation for future family expansion. The current external wall has two, tall, arched windows which gives the space a dominating character. My response was to maintain this character by having the bedroom on the internal wall. An operable wall to the bedroom and opposite the external wall would allow for light to penetrate the room as well as opening up to create a larger internal space.
