The wonderful David Rygiol and spectacular James Louis Walker invited 60 designers and typographers to create unique posters for a park they love in celebration of the National Parks Service centennial this past August. To draw something completely out of my comfort zone and a place I’ve never visited, I selected the one and only, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

The best part is 100% of the profits will be donated directly to the National Park’s Centennial Campaign to give the parks another spectacular century.
Process from initial sketch to refined black and white drawing.
Final poster design after color / texture was added.
