Brigde USSD System | UX Design

As a group project I along with designers Quintin Kok, PD Van Der Westhuizen and Marguerite Oosthuizen was asked to design a USSD system to help a solve a issue found in the Tshwane CBD.

After extensive research in the Pretoria CBD, a social problem was discovered in the midst of the xenophobia outbreak of 2015. Refugees entering the country in hope of starting a new life or taking advantages of opportunities found themselves helpless and often times on the streets - only because they are lost and unable to ask anyone around them for direction. We bridged the gap.

We created an affordable and scalable USSD solution to provide users with quick location services over USSD.

When we looked at the target market that will be using Bridge, as well as the nature of the usage, we decided to go for an approachable, friendly and happy brand style. The colours used are happy and full of hope, with blue used as the main colour in the app to represent trust. Gotham Rounded allows the type to present the content in a friendly way, while not sacrificing good design.
