During the boom of Venezuela drawing in the seventies, Virginia Lavado drew without to much noise. She didn't draw because it was in vogue; she drew because drawing is an intrinsic form of her being and expression. The humor reflected in her drawings combine with a life-long interest in folk tales and storytelling has led her to develop an extensive work in which she explores the interactions among reality, dreams and mythology. Virginia obeys her interior pulse and her works are spiced with remembrances that inhabit in her memory. Virginia Lavado born in Caracas, Venezuela where she started her career as artist. In 1982 moved to New York  to study at Pratt Institute. After many years of  living  in Brooklyn, she stablished her studio  in upstate New York.
