Candy Crush
Candy Crush is a fictional exhibition of 24 types of candy that are presented in a pop-art kind of way. Just like the pop-art movement, I praise my mass-consumption product (candy), but I also criticize it. Candy is delicious, but it is important to also think twice about the negative aspects of it.
There are subtle references – in the photographs and design – to the negative aspects of candy. It is addictive, causes caries, contains a lot of food coloring, etc. The photographs also refer to pop-art by estrangement of the candies, repetition and the bright colors.
Almost everything was screen-printed.
