Space Shuttle Composite Boom Arm Design
This was an undergraduate engineering project I accomplished at University of California Santa Barbara. I led a group of five undergraduate mechanical engineering students to design a composite material shuttle boom arm. The design need to meet a specific weight, deflection, vibrations and thermal performance. 
This presentation explains our initial design choices and their justifications. It also includes our recommended changes needed for the project to meet the initial given performance requirements.
