A green alternative to plastic bags
Sample of a green design project I did for a social cause working with Back to the Sack, a local NY non profit, and The Interdependence Project. With my background in green standards, I created an implementation of a structured solution to replacing plastic bags in NYC while utilizing existing local government programs and working with the city's structure and resources. I broke down my solution in an illustrated manner alongside a written component (a condensed version of my research) explaining my entire solution and implementation process for those that wanted to read everything in detail.
The brochure opens into a large poster targeting all ages from teens to adults (included a bellyband for the handouts we set up), and a downloadable format for just the poster with the information. Schools were another main target to have the poster up in classrooms.
The plan was to get New Yorkers to understand the framework of the solution and sign a petition that we'd take to Bloomberg through Micah Kellner, a NY state assembly member that the organization was in contact with.
