I created series of illustrations based on the British nursery rhyme Magpie (One for Sorrow). 

At first I found it difficult to find the best ways to approach this topic, I wanted to avoid just making something cutesy. After some research, I discovered that it is actually often associated with superstitions. So I decided to make these illustrations like tarot cards, starting bright and sweet, and slowly moving on to a more sinister mood.
