On the Face of it
A book project about the phenomenon of Pareidolia.
This was a university project where I had to choose any subject, and produce either a book or a series of prints about that subject. I decided to make a book about the phenomenon of Pareidolia, which is where faces are seen where there isn't one, a common example being seeing Jesus in a piece of toast. Because of this common example, I decided that a lot the designs within the book would be based around religious figures and the medium they are most commonly seen in, partially mocking the fact that a lot of religious people believe these coincidences are a divine occurrence. The book also included examples of Pareidolia that I found myself. The main inspiration for the design was Jonathan Barnbrook.
