Pink Jungle Deer Shadow Box.
This piece was created for and displayed at: 1962 - 2016 MCAD Alumni Takeover at City Wide Artists gallery in Minneapolis.
This project originally started out as a class assignment for my Professional Practice course at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I created an image of two deer in a Pink and Teal colored jungle. I recreated the project using cut-paper in order to make a three-dimensional shadow box. I was heavily inspired by the designs of old paper theaters.

The original artwork that was created for my professional practice course at MCAD as shown above.

Below you can see some of my process as well as how I constructed this piece. I used an Epson printer to make high quality matte prints of my artwork which I then cut into individual cut out layers. I stacked these layers with 1/4" basswood strips, which I used as spacers.
