We built a Bamboo House in Indonesia. We were inspired by the regional architecture: light wooden constructions which we often stayed in during our trips.

Also - we wanted to create our house using approved local traditional methods.

Where?
On Jawa Island, near Yogyakarta city, next to Froghouse – the place used as a cultural center and a backpackers shelter, where guests can stay in tiny and really nice bungalows. Putting up the Bamboo House without Frog community wouldn't be possible.

How?
We built the Bamboo House ourselves. Many people helped on the building site and during the crowdfunding.

Garden
Friends from Lithuania – Andrius and Mykolas – suggested to make a small garden around the Bamboo House. They've said, they've done.

Crowdfunding
We needed money for buying materials and tools. That's why we organized crowdfunding. We were trying to collect 2900 PLN and we did it.

At the ground floor there is a place to park a motorbike. But it's also a place where we could organize some meetings with friends. That's why we decided to put there so many light balls. In Indonesia sun goes down around 6 pm.

First floor is divided into to parts - a room and a terrace.

Above the room, there is a tiny second floor, which is actually just a bench, but it's a perfect place to sit, have a nice view and drink a cold lemonade :)
