Five Elements
Five Elements
An ancient philosophical concept, the Wu Xing (Five Elements) theory held that its five phases mirrored the structure of the cosmos.
Each phase has a complex series of associations with different aspects of nature, describing relationships between the composition and phenomena of the physical universe.
Cycles
The doctrine of five phases describes two cycles: a generating or creation cycle (circle-shaped) and an overcoming or destruction cycle (star-shaped), and interactions between the phases.
