Wilma describes her artwork as "Healing Art" with a whimsical feeling and vibrant colors inspired by her Caribbean heritage, and the richness of the Latin American folklore. Also after all her travelling she has been influence by traditional custumes of those countries she has visited, such as the fabric colors and patterns of India, the Emirates, Spain among others. Nature is the highlight of her artwork using landscapes with flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies as her muse. Wilma's paintings show a window to nature producing an effect of calm, joy, hope and peace with a healing effect that is soul uplifting: "I want people to experience happiness when they see my work, I want them to feel joy and hope, a positive feeling that  can heal the spirit by looking at the beauty and harmony nature offers all of us," said the artist.
