MANDATE:
To design an institutional publication which promotes the Graphic Design program at Dawson College. The text and images were provided, however they still needed to be managed, completed, and organized according to the proposed structure of the booklet. It had to capture the unique style, spirit, and variety of the program.
RATIONALE:
The approach for this publication was predominantly typographic, since the exaggerated titles defined the overall style. It involved a mix of four bold colors, red being the dominant shade, and applying texture to each enlarged title. By pairing the red typography, for example, over grayscale images, a dynamic mood was created and kept consistent through the whole book. Content was kept neatly in long, narrow columns, with lots of white space to ensure reading was pleasant for the eyes.
