Captain Train - Brand identity 

Captain Train (Trainline EU) is the fastest and easiest way to buy train tickets in Europe. Founded in 2009, Captain Train was acquired by Trainline in 2016.

In 2015 I started working with the CEO and CMO of Captain Train in order to develop a new identity for this Parisian start-up which was growing very fast and expanding in the rest of Europe. The previous logo, designed by the CEO itself when the start-up launched its service in 2009, represented a smiling locomotive which became very distinctive and recognisable 
 especially among early adopters. To update the company's brand identity we decided to move away from the smiling loco and started working on an visual representation of the railway and tech industry in which we were working and innovating so fast. The result of this process became our distinctive icon called "the railtag", created by the intersection of an hashtag and the rails, with an updated tint of green as a main brand colour. For its characteristics we decide to use Founders Grotesk as a main font family for the logo and all marketing materials. 

As a Lead Visual Designer I art directed and designed the new brand identity, developing internal brand guidelines and helping other teams during the implementation process in all our platforms. 

Captain Train was selected among Apple - Best of 2015 App Store and Best Apps of 2015 - Android Apps.
