Lo scopo è quello di creare un percorso, che attraverso la scoperta di una natura estranea, gradualmente tocchi tutte le corti rurali che sono state analizzate, permettendo anche una rivalorizzazione generale dell’area attraverso la riscoperta di alcuni dei luoghi abbandonati.
Luoghi che apparentemente non hanno nessun significato, assumono improvvisamente una valenza speciale grazie anche al filo comune del percorso che li unisce gli uni agli altri. Il percorso, con designati un inizio e una fine che in realtà sono fittizi in quanto esso è estendibile a tutto il territorio, è il fulcro del progetto fotografico ed è grazie ad esso che è possibile percepire le atmosfere che circondano i luoghi e ne caratterizzano l’unicità.
THE THIRD LANDSCAPE OF OLTREPÒ OF MANTOVA
The aim of the book is to retrace the places abandoned by men and reconquered by nature through a photographic project within an area in the Po Valley and more specifically in Oltrepò of Mantua, from the river Oglio to the Mincio river, for a total length of approximately 30km linear.
Along with a study of what is the landscape today and what are the salient features of Oltrepò’s landscape, it was made a search on the major Italian photographers that explored the theme from postwar to the present day. It was then accomplished an historical and typological research on Oltrepò's rural courts that have always characterized historically and scenically the Po valley and also are the main subjects of the photographs. Photographs that rappresent also the third landscape, that represents all that surfaces that no more accommodate human activities, allowing nature to regain possession again.
The aim is to ricreate a path, through the discovery of a foreign nature, that gradually touches all rural courts that have been analyzed, even allowing a general upgrading of the areas through the rediscovery of some of the abandoned places.
Places that apparently have no meaning, suddenly take a special significance thanks to the common thread that joins them to each other. The route, with a designated beginning and ending actually are fictitious because the whole work is extensible to the entire territory, is the hub of the photographic project and thanks to that you can feel the atmosphere that surrounds places and characterizes its uniqueness.
