Self-Initiated Project
I was partly inspired to make this by one of Stephanie Syjuco's pieces. I created the artwork based on ebay pictures for the Akai MPC 2000 XL. I produced this paper model by designing the net on illustrator and then printing it out and folding it together. I really liked the glossy high quality print effect when made into a 3-D object.  

The MPC 2000 was a MIDI production center produced in the early nineties and used in the production of the majority of old-school hip-hop, It has since been widely regarded along with other Akai products by musicians as an excellent and reliable sampling device drum machine and step-sequencer.
