Refresh Colombo is a communityof web and technology enthusiasts/professionals who come together on a monthlybasis to share ideas and meet like minded individuals.

It's been 2 years since the group has started andthere is relatively more interest within the creative anddevelopment professionals now, it’s about time the group get an identity whichis up to the standard of international tech communities like TED and RefreshingCities.

As a Sri Lankan designer andwith my willingness to help local gatherings, I’ve decided to create anidentity which would enable Refresh Colombo organizers to approach their audiencewith professionalism and confidence.

The Concept.

F5 to Refresh
Since the beginning of the Webbrowser era and the qwerty keyboard, F5Key has been the king of page refresh, and anyone who would use a computer to browse internet knows this. I’veutilised this factor to completely replace the word “Refresh”. And also whensomeone looks at the logo without reading this introduction, there should be a “A-ha”moment. I am posting this information after the images is the same reason that Ido not want you to miss that moment. If you’ve missed it already… well.. callyourself Du*&^*%.

Green Colour
Green has been the colourrepresented Colombo for over centuries and Colombo has derived from 2 Sinhalesewords “Kola (means Green)” + “Amba (means Mango)”. I haveused the colour of the young mango leaves.


Triangular Texture
The triangles textureson the main graphical element represent the diverse industries coming togetherwith the “Refresh Colombo” Meet up. To name some of them would be Hackers,bloggers, coders, geeks & geek lovers, journalists, techies, entrepreneursand venture capitalists; they even entertain nosy grandmas too.
