Pineapple Portrait
A Photoshop Still-Life Painting
A Photoshop Still-Life Painting
This Photoshop Painting was created based on a photograph that I took and used as a reference for composition, texture, and color. I altered the color palette and opened up the composition to reflect the warm, summer, breezy beach mood I was going for. I was also aiming for a high-detail watercolor effect rather than a strictly photorealistic approach. The composition features a pineapple in a studio setting, as if the character and personality of the fruit is being showcased in a traditional portrait. The wide negative space is eye-catching, with the shy bottom edge of the pineapple creating interest for the viewer that begs for extended attention from the eye. The entire painting was created from scratch; this is NOT a photo manipulation.
The above image is a photograph that I took prior to beginning the painting.
