"Enter the lab" was project initiated by the European Union.

The task was to design the facade of a laboratory where electro mobility and all its conceques are researched. The laboratory is located in Ispra, Italy.

My concept tells a story with some kind of funny looking comic characters which should be accessible for everyone. I am going to visualize those in form of “crazy professors”, who are researching on electro mobility and things which related to that. I will show that in a few main scenes (about 3 or 4) and some smaller ones allocated all over the wall. In my design the facade will be divided into two main parts which are going to meet in the center. The one half of the wall will show how the mobility is today, with normal cars, fossil fuels and a lot of other things which the lab is going research on. On the other part there will be visualized in to which future the JRC is going to lead the electro mobility of today. There will be for example futuristic looking cars, only one type of charger or charging station, happy looking professors and a fresh and clean environment. The background of the complete design will be streaked partly by a city silhouette. The silhouette on the part which stands for today will be influenced by an old 50’s or 60’s comic style and the other one with more futuristic looking buildings. On both parts I am going to use big graphic spaces on which I will place the same symbol over and over again to create a pattern. These symbols will only be slightly contrasting to the background color. First thoughts about that where to use a pictogram of a car on the “today”-side and a flash on the “tomorrow”-side.

Furthermore the impression of the two different parts of the wall should be underlined by the use of different color schemes. The “tomorrow”-side for example is supposed to be kept in bluish color tones and the other one in red, orange and yellow.
