    The rebranding process is based on the research that was visualized through the idea of abstraction. The wordmark is influenced by the aerial view of the prairies in the Midwest and the branding of organizations dedicated to aviation. I mimicked the intersections of the fields and created a simplified shape of an airplane to reflect the setting and subject of the museum. I combined both visuals to create an airplane with patterns constructed from the intersections of the lines. To direct my attention towards the form, I decided to examine individual elements forming the airplane. This step fueled my decision to abstract the form of the airplane to convey the essence of the museum. As a final step, I combined the abstracted shape with the logotype. However, having applied the mark on the products, I realized that it competed with the imagery, so I decided to use a single logotype as a mark of the museum and keep the individual shapes forming the airplane as supportive visual elements. Prairie Aviation Museum is an aviation and space museum in Bloomington, IL that honors military and civilian aviation. It is a volunteer organization that has provided displays, static aircraft, education programs, air shows and group tours for over 30 years. PAM is a family-friendly museum, where visitors of all ages can touch the displays and interact with members who flew and maintained the aircraft.
