NIGHT TEA
A cup of tea is always welcome, a sweet kitty always captures our attention, but sometimes ... are just forms built with the intention to trap us in a spider web that makes us superfluous and immune to everything that happens around us.
"Night Tea" is intended as a critique of a society which meets for tea, crochet and cupcakes wanting to live in a superficial, sweet world and close their eyes to the injustices around us.
So this artwork shows two faces, a teapot decorated with roses, butterflies and a kitten and hiding its true soul: an evil spider.
This work of art comes from the imagination of Art Toy Maison inspired by the book of Japanese artist Toriyama Sekien published in 1781, in which there appear everyday objects that come to life after years, bestiary that are half spider and half woman, collections of ghosts and spirits that come together in "the illustrated parade night of hundreds of demons"; It is the night of tea.
This artwork is constructed from an Art Toy Kidrobot, of whom we have made molds for the whole work to be resin...
NIGHT TEA
Una taza de té es siempre bienvenida, un dulce gatito siempre capta nuestra atención, pero a veces…son solo formas construidas con la intención de atraparnos en una tela de araña que nos vuelve superfluos e inmunes a todo lo que sucede a nuestro alrededor.
“Night Tea” pretende ser una crítica a una sociedad que se reúne a tomar el té, hacer ganchillo y cupcakes queriendo vivir en un mundo superficial, dulce y cerrar los ojos a las injusticias que nos rodean.
Por eso esta pieza muestra dos Caras, una tetera adornada con un gatito, mariposas y rosas que esconde su verdadera alma: una araña diabólica.
Esta pieza surge del imaginario de Art Toy Maison inspirándose en el libro del artista japonés Toriyama Sekien publicado en 1781, en el que aparecen objetos cotidianos que cobran vida después de años, bestiarios que son mitad araña, mitad mujer, colecciones de fantasmas y espíritus que se unen en “el desfile ilustrado de la noche de cientos de demonios”; es la noche del Té.
Esta pieza se construye a partir de un Art Toy de Kidrobot, de los cuales se han hecho moldes para que la obra en conjunto sea de resina…
