After the Boston Red Sox collapse in September, 2011 and the leaving and firing of GM Theo Epstein and Terry 'Tito' Francona, there was a lot of anger and sadness among Red Sox fans - after all, they'd delivered 2 World Series championships in 3 years after none for 86 years. The least we could do is offer some kind of thanks for bringing such joy to the city of Boston and Red Sox fans all over the world.
Along with a developer at Tank Design, I created a responsive site allowing fans to submit messages of thanks to either Theo, Tito, or both. No registration was required, so people could submit their messages anonymously if they wished. They could also leave their name and email address if desired and receive email confirmation. The site also included a list of charities close to Theo and Tito and the Red Sox organization so fans can contribute to important causes as an additional way to give thanks.
The result was a simple and classic looking site dedicated to a couple of people who changed the course of Red Sox history forever. The site was designed and launched in November, 2011.
