The “Jaguar Vision G-type” is a concept car for the year 2030. Autonomous cars in the near future will not be able to give and satisfy drivers the analogue feeling of the driving experience. Thus “Jaguar Vision G-type” is a non-autonomous car that enhances the driver’s emotional driving experience in the future due to its tilting and bending features, similar to that of a motorbike. The G-type is made of three different volumes including a central cockpit, two front fenders and the chassis. The cockpit is made of different layers of elastic straps on which the seat is suspended. The driver is able to tilt the car thanks to a special seat in combination with the steering wheel. The car chassis is also capable of rotating, allowing the car to steer better in tight turns. Inspired from the styling of Jaguar racing cars from the 50’s and 60’s, the long front fenders of the G-type are a tribute to the Jaguar C-type while the tail shape is a reinterpretation of the E-type’s. In addition, the concept takes inspiration from the side cars built by the company before the war. The automobile combines the feelings of the side cars with the styling of the Jaguar Heritage. The body fenders of the cars are made out of aluminium and they cover the tires to have better aerodynamic efficiency. The car is electric-powered and can regenerate energy from braking. The user of this car will enjoy the car on the track as well as on the b-roads. The seat is divided into two parts; the leg support and the back support. The leg support tilts at the same time as the steering wheel. So the driver interacts more physically with the car. The car expresses the idea of Grace as seen in the 1950s Jaguar advertisements. To conclude, the name of “Jaguar Vision G-type” is a reference to the g-force. Read Less
