Public bench
Wood / Brushed Steel
My reflection started with this idea : observe and analyse how the young generation sit down on a public bench. After giving it some thoughts, I realized that most of the time the “youngsters” always sit on the back seat of the bench, so I decided to allow for different levelse of sitting.
In terms of structure, there are two building blocks, fixed together by the bottom. So this approach allows for a better stability of the bench.
The panels can be combined in an indefinite number of ways. They can also be replaced easily. As a result, the costumers can exactly tailor the bench to his taste and to the environment.
For this prototype, I chose those materials, which are usually composed a typical bench such as :
- Aluminum rectangular tubes for the structure.
- Massive Exotic wood Panel for the sittings.
- And Rotomolded Plexiglass for the illuminated flowerpot.

My first intention was to get all the generations together
